Castle Market

                                                                      March 2013

Working with a non-traditional gallery space we seek to expand the way that an audience may encounter the body. By creating pieces that touch upon senses via visuals, audio and scent we wish for the audience to explore the space through their own body. This was a group exhibition, creating individual pieces which lead to a successful exhibition putting our ideas together to create an exhibition that was an interaction for the viewer through different mediums. I created a wall of drawings in a line, these line drawings were drawn from observation, hopefully I have successfully captured a moment that cannot be repeated. My current practice is time based, I am very interested that we are in a certain place with people at a certain time and this often cannot be repeated. Through my quick drawings I hope to capture character, making the viewer want to know more about the person that I have drawn. The drawings are drawn very delicately meaning from a distance it looks like white paper, however when you come closer to the drawings the person appears, this creates an intimacy between the viewer and the work.
